What is success?

"Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
If a man is working toward a predetermined goal, and knows where he is going, that man is a success. If he is not doing that he's a failure."
Today I watched a video on Youtube that has really inspired me to work hard. I recently worked really hard and achieved a personal goal. It has been a huge milestone for me. Proving that if you work hard you can achieve the outcome that you want. But you can't just wait for it to come to you. You have to go out and get it for yourself. This video has completely supported my work ethic. But they say push it further. Keep moving the goal posts further away.

Now I am determined to see what else I am able to achieve. Just because I have got this far, does not mean that I am going to stop now. I could. But that would be lazy. Instead I will create new goals to achieve.

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”
― Michelangelo Buonarroti
So now I have achieved this mark, I have to aim higher. And keep aiming higher until I settle on the place where I belong. And even then I will relentlessly keep trying to progress.

How then, do you become successful and achieve these targets that you set out for? This video says:
" You become what you think about."
Stay focused and do not poison your mind with negativity. Believe you can and focus on achieving your goal as if it is impossible not to do so. And treat every day as if it were your most productive day. Go at the world full steam ahead, wholeheartedly.

The video states that there are 6 steps for success as outlined by a successful psychiatrist:
"1) Set yourself a definite goal.
2) Quit running yourself down.
3) Stop thinking of all the reasons why you cannot be successful and instead think of all the reasons why you can.
4) Trace your attitude back through your childhood and try to discover where you first got the idea that you couldn't be successful; if that's the way you've been thinking.
5) Change the image you have of yourself by writing out a description of the person you would like to be.
6) Act the part of the successful person you have decided to become."
So I am off  now to set myself so new targets. Let's see what i can achieve if I put my mind to it in 2014.

If you get half an hour, watch this video. It is pretty inspirational. I have watched it twice through whole already today and certain clips I have replayed over and over.

"Start today. You have nothing to lose but you have a whole life to win."

I want to dedicate my whole life to singing and to sharing beautiful music with the world. I have succeeded this far, but I am only at the very beginning of my journey.

I hope this blog post can inspire some change in your life and help you in your journey to success.

Merry Christmas.
