Summer 2013

Wow! What a summer it has been.
I am writing this blog from New York USA, where my summer of  music is ending. Tomorrow I fly home to the UK where I will be doing a charity skydive for the Basket Brigade, before moving house and returning back to teaching singing lessons in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. Where have the past few months gone?

It all started in May with the beginning of wedding season. I have sung at many weddings this summer, but some of my favourites were:

- Dressing to an Asian Glam theme at the Forbury Hotel in Reading.

- Singing with Manchester String Quartet in St Pius RC Church, Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

- Singing Etta James' "At Last" in St Peter's Church, Woolton, Liverpool (where the Beatles met)

- A cute wedding in the Roof of the Lowry Theatre and Art Gallery.

- And of course not forgetting my favourite of them all, my big sister's wedding in Stockport Town Hall!

As a soloist I have performed for the Football Conference League Awards ceremony at Celtic Manor, Wales.

Won a singing competition in Blackpool.

Given a recital of religious music in Sheffield's St Marie Cathedral, which was featured in the Sheffield Star.

Performed for Manchester's Dig the City Urban Gardening Festival.

And given a recital of American and English songs in New York.

Oh and not forgetting performing with the 3 Sopranos at Wigan's DW Stadium.

But best of all I can not wait to watch my performance with the 3 Sopranos and Victor Michael live at the Floral Pavillion, New Brighton (Wirral) live on SKY Arts later this year.

No rest for the wicked!

Lets hope that the next few months stay just as exciting as these have been. They should be. I have plans to record my first album and also an exciting gig over in Morocco.
