I recently had to jump into OBV's production of Schumann's Faust. This is a work that is quite rarely performed, and is written more like an oratorio than an opera, it is very rarely fully staged. It was quite a treat to be a able to be involved in this show, and I am very much looking forward to taking it on tour to Montpellier Opera House next year.
Set on a space ship in outer-space, we begin taking part in a yoga lesson. There are HUGE mirrors all around the edge of the stage making it seem like there are an infinite number of people on stage with us. Hanging over head was a giant digital screen that displayed various video footage throughout the performance. The whole thing was very futuristic. I did enjoy my costume for this show - a hoody and leggings. It's not often that your costume is more comfortable than the clothes you arrived in! During the performance we get changed on stage, and my second costume was a beautiful Asian inspired Royal Blue dress. See you again in a few month's time Schumann.
